Companies that prioritize their corporate social responsibility also build a more promising and healthier future for their communities.
With immense pride, Aruba Airport Authority N.V. (AAA) has announced the publication of its third report on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) for the year 2023.
The concept of Corporate Social Responsibility is a vital mission for Aruba's airport as it reflects a deep commitment not only to prosper as a company but to operate in a manner that benefits its employees, investors, suppliers, and the community at large.
The CSR report serves as a key tool to inform stakeholders, and it clearly demonstrates how AAA is dedicating its resources and strategies to achieve sustainable development goals, essentially using data to quantify and guide its progress.
In 2021, AAA launched its first CSR report and followed up with the second report in 2022, guided by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Corporate Social Reporting Directive (CSRD), and European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS).
The 2023 CSR report is based on the standards set by the Airports Council International (ACI) ESG, covering environmental, social, and governance aspects. The report highlights various activities, projects, and significant achievements of AAA.
Additionally, the report provides an overview of the social contributions of AAA's Wings of Hope, emphasizing the realization of various socially responsible projects. This year, an SDG Index was introduced in the report to analyze development and establish priorities from 2021 to 2023, and to also identify new opportunities. AAA plans to create a similar SDG Index for all AAA efforts in the future. For the year 2024, there are several areas to focus on under environmental, social, and governance aspects.
As AAA continues to focus on its environmental and social impact and carries out business in a sustainable manner, AAA also offers various presentations and recommendations to other companies with the goal of having a positive impact and inspiring other companies to do the same. The CSR 2023 report is available on the Aruba Airport website: www.airportaruba.com/sustainability
