At just 15 years old, Kyra Isabella Suarez Gomez is a rising star in the world of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA). Every time she steps into the ring, she demonstrates remarkable talent and mastery in this sport, truly embodying the TALENT OF ARUBA.
From a young age, Kyra tried various sports, but none captivated her attention like Martial Arts. Her love for the sport began with a simple 'Try-Out', and now, after 7 years, her commitment and discipline remain strong.
While for some, the MMA show starts once the fighters step into the ring, the real 'show', which takes place behind the scenes in preparation for that day, is much more significant. Factors like weight and training are crucial details that determine victory or defeat.
"The hardest part for me is always when I have to lose weight," she says. But she doesn't let this challenge hinder her determination.
Kyra has learned many aspects of the sport, from believing in herself to maintaining discipline. The MMA environment is predominantly male, but Kyra does not let this hinder her progress. She says that the support from her family is essential. "Without my mom or family, I wouldn’t be where I am today and wouldn’t be a champion, because without their support, I wouldn't be here. They are everything to me.”
Kyra’s discipline extends beyond the MMA ring. She balances her school and training with a strict routine. "I go to school in the morning and train in the afternoon from Monday to Friday. I am a very calm and reserved person. When it comes to fighting, the training varies," she says passionately.
With a clear goal ahead, Kyra is working hard to become a professional in the UFC. "To achieve this, I make an effort every day to train and improve myself with each training session.”
