Oranjestad holds a very special place for Diamanta Kock, as she grew up there. Diamanta, an award-winning entertainment artist, chose to return to Aruba from Europe to establish a career in mindful experience design and holistic practice through eco-conscious food & beverage entertainment.

The concept of her business is a multi-spectrum holistic hub dedicated to raising awareness about Aruba's natural treasures and culture by using only local products and artists.

"I was born and raised in Playa, so when I returned to Aruba after living in Europe for almost 15 years, I felt an immediate warmth and appreciation for our Mainstreet. The authenticity is what defines the Aruba I know and love."

When Diamanta thinks of ‘Mainstreet’, she reflects on all the positive aspects. "I feel hopeful that our downtown can return to its existence as a central point of Aruba. I cannot help but pray that our people reinvest in Mainstreet and do not sell out to offshore companies."

The support from Maggy’s has proven essential for Diamanta. This incredible empire has supported her throughout this venture by achieving a sustainable solution of joining forces to reduce costs, reuse furniture, and recycle decor. This made it possible, in a more cost-effective way, for her to establish her holistic hub right in the heart of Mainstreet.

"Be smart and do not try to imitate other concepts. Try to co-create with other professionals to start a business and share costs. Organize pop-ups in Mainstreet to survey your market and product."

"The gentrification of a cultural area by international companies and high-end restaurants can end up excluding locals from enjoying it on a more regular basis."

"In the next five years, our company aims to maintain a hub in downtown for as long as possible, alongside other establishments, most likely in Mondi. We need to work to motivate the local community and businesses to support establishments on Mainstreet."
