From a very young age, Sean Aiden Jansen (13) has always had an affinity for music. Despite his shy nature, he began to step out of it at the age of seven by participating in Playback shows organized by his school, Colegio Laura Wernet Paskel.
This sparked his interest in music. In 2019, Sean started piano lessons, where his instructor noted his keen ear for music. When asked to share his first feeling when his hands touched the piano, he said, "It was something very new to me, but I felt good. I felt like this was something I wanted to continue learning to do."
In 2021, Sean's father came across an advertisement for DJ Lee Croes, who was offering DJ courses. Immediately, Sean found this very interesting and wanted to see what all this was about. In February 2021, he began DJ lessons with Lee Croes. Early on in the course, Lee commented that Sean grasped rhythm and understood music very quickly.
At first, this was supposed to be a 10-week course to learn the basics of DJing. But when the 10 weeks passed, Sean remained interested, and DJ Lee saw potential in him. Thus, they decided to extend the classes for another 10 weeks, where Sean learned even more about the world of DJing. In April 2021, at just 10 years old, Sean got the opportunity to play a live session for the first time, during DJ Lee's radio show on Cool FM. After that, he played a few times for family and at his school, but never dared to play in larger public settings. He was still a bit shy.
As time went on, Sean began to concentrate more on sports, specifically basketball, where today he plays for the Aruba Juniors Pirates. However, his parents didn't want his interest in music to be forgotten. They always encouraged him to continue developing his talent in music, whether by practicing piano or DJing alongside his involvement in sports. Sean himself committed to returning to his music in 2024... and so it happened.

To Sean's surprise, 2024 presented him with an opportunity he couldn't pass up. Thanks to DJ Lee, Sean was invited to play at the "grand opening" of Taco Bell Palm Beach. This experience certainly helped Sean gain more confidence in what he does. Today, at 13 years old, Sean is much more confident in himself and dares to play at more events. Gradually, he is growing in the world of DJing. And we hope he can inspire other young people to dare to do something different, as you never know, it could be a hidden talent.
What is the biggest challenge you've faced as a young DJ, and how have you overcome it?
"Because I'm only 13 years old, I don't know many songs yet. Certainly not from other generations or different genres. I know some because of what my parents listen to. But DJ Lee helped me with this, and now I have a lot more songs from different genres. This allowed me to play even merengue, salsa, and bachata at my grandpa's party."
Besides music and basketball, are there any other hobbies or interests you enjoy?
"I like playing video games and helping my dad cook. Also, I enjoy spending time with my family playing different games at home."
How did an experience like playing at the grand opening of Taco Bell Palm Beach influence your confidence as an artist?
"It helped me become more confident in myself. Although I can still get a little nervous and afraid of making mistakes. But now I dare to play in public where it's not just family."

How do you see your future in music and sports?
"I hope I can continue to grow in both. If I grow a bit taller, it might help me a little more in basketball 😜, but I'll do my best wherever I can. And in terms of music/DJing, I'd love to play at more events."
Do you have any specific goals you want to achieve?
"I'm just enjoying the experience right now. But it would be amazing if one day I could DJ at a big event in Aruba."
