In Aruba, a simple idea can become a reality with the right support. Since its establishment, Qredits Aruba has proven that small businesses can continue to grow, and with patience, dedication, guidance, financial support, and the ideal funding, success is within reach. With all these winning elements, Qredits is now celebrating a historic milestone—granting its 500th loan to a local entrepreneur: Nu-Wave Entertainment, a company in the entertainment industry. "We are honored to be Qredits Aruba’s 500th loan recipient," says Lee Croes.

Lee Croes’ journey to entrepreneurship began with one key ingredient—his passion for music and entertainment. "I started as a radio host and MC for a morning radio show, which opened doors for me to DJ at various events across the island,"he shares. "Music has always been my passion, but I never imagined that one day I would own my own entertainment company."

To stand out in a competitive market, Nu-Wave Entertainment committed to delivering high-quality service and exclusive presentation, blending traditional elegance with modern innovation. "We don’t just play music; we create an experience, an atmosphere," Croes explains. "We operate at a higher standard, which has made us a preferred choice for weddings and corporate events."

But the road to success wasn’t always easy. One of their biggest challenges was establishing credibility and visibility in an industry filled with competition. "As a new company, we had to stand out by consistently delivering high-quality service, being responsible, managing time effectively, and paying attention to detail," he says.

Another major hurdle was building their inventory of equipment. The company started with zero equipment and had to invest wisely to grow. "We reinvested, worked hard, and little by little, we expanded our inventory." "One of the most rewarding moments in our career was securing our first company loan after years of hard work," Croes recalls. "Another milestone was establishing ourselves as a top-tier entertainment provider in Aruba, trusted by both local and international corporate clients. Additionally, creating job opportunities for others has been incredibly fulfilling, allowing us to grow and successfully handle over 160 weddings last year."

Their success so far is just the beginning. Over the next 2 to 4 years, Nu-Wave Entertainment aims to expand into Curaçao and Bonaire and strengthen industry partnerships. "We are working on expanding our AV division, launching our own recording and production studio, and introducing our own nonprofit foundation to support local talent."

Croes emphasizes that Aruba’s entertainment industry needs to be elevated and respected. "We must stop treating this sector as an afterthought. Talent must be valued. Art and entertainment require passion and dedication—it’s not just a three-hour performance."

According to Croes, a shift in mindset is crucial. "Instead of competing on price, we should focus on service quality and the overall experience. This will create sustainability for professionals in the industry."

For those dreaming of starting their own business, Croes offers key advice:

1. Keep your finances in order.

2. Find a successful mentor and learn from them.

3. Focus on real business growth, not just social media appearances.

4. Be patient and trust yourself.

Qredits’ loan has not only allowed Nu-Wave Entertainment to strengthen its inventory and expand services but has also boosted their confidence in sustainable growth. "Our experience with Qredits Aruba has been exceptional. Their guidance and support were invaluable throughout the entire process, from developing our business plan to navigating the legal aspects."

"We highly recommend Qredits to any entrepreneur looking for a solid foundation to grow. Their flexibility surpasses traditional financial institutions, making them an ideal choice for those with big dreams."

"Seek guidance, plan well, and build a strong financial foundation. You may not get everything at once, but a solid foundation will help you grow successfully in the future."
