For Natasha Rachel DeWindt (34), the journey did not begin with a plan or a large investment. It started simply, with a cloth, a few products, and a passion that had been present from a very young age. “I started washing cars when I was 12 years old, and I always loved seeing a car clean, shining, with its tires spotless. I like seeing a car look good for its owner.”

Before Gloss Squad Carwash became an official business, Natasha would go to the homes of acquaintances, washing cars by hand, using the client’s own water and electricity. No machines, no structure, just effort, discipline, and love for the work. To get closer to her goals, she worked as a security guard, taking on long and difficult shifts. Yet even in those circumstances, the vision of having something of her own, a business, never left her mind or heart.
One day, she came across Gloss Squad Carwash Aruba and made an appointment to have her own car washed. She immediately liked the concept. Not long after, she took a step that would change her direction, she asked if they were looking for workers. In April 2019, she started working for the company. It didn’t take long before a life-changing opportunity presented itself.
For Natasha, the decision to start something of her own was not difficult. That desire had always been there. “I always had the desire to have my own company. Working for myself, I feel free and I can plan my days.” Working for others, as she describes it, can become routine. But working for herself gave her a different sense of freedom and control over her future.
On February 15, 2021, Gloss Squad Carwash Aruba officially opened as her business. The journey was not easy. Her biggest challenge was financial. “I started with nothing, buying my products little by little so I could do my work, and I had no salary.” Despite the limitations, she kept going, holding firmly onto the belief that her dream was possible.
Today, Natasha works out in the field herself. Although she has a team behind the scenes supporting her, the daily operation rests on her shoulders. “I work in the sun every day, and it’s not easy, but that doesn’t take away my passion for washing cars and seeing them shine.” Many people only see the result: a clean, shiny car. But what is not visible is the effort, the heat of the sun, and the constant discipline the job requires.
When asked what makes her service different, she explains: “The quality I offer and the satisfaction the client feels when they see their car clean.”
In addition, Natasha operates in a space largely dominated by men, which makes her story even stronger, a woman working independently, with consistency and determination.
When it comes to balancing personal life and business, Natasha answers honestly: “Balance? Hahaha… it’s not really in balance, but we’re trying.” It is a reality many entrepreneurs recognize, growth does not always come with perfect balance. Despite that, her vision for the future is clear.
“I see my business running well, where I don’t have to be on the road anymore and can take care of my family and my health.”
For those who are afraid to take the first step, Natasha has a direct message: “Just go for it!” The journey will not be easy. There will be challenges, difficult moments, and doubt. But with the right people around you and belief in yourself, progress is inevitable.
