Aruba’s 71st Carnival Brings a Fresh Breeze with Four New Faces as MCs. With a passion for entertainment, unwavering dedication, and dynamic energy, these four MCs have brought a unique atmosphere to the history of our 2025 Carnival.

At just 18 years old, Lucas Geerman is a talented young man with a deep love for culture, radio, and entertainment. From a young age, he dreamed of being part of the entertainment world, inspired by his family. Lucas is the only son of Lizaira and Hubert, and he proudly calls himself an “Indian of Macuarima,” where his umbilical cord was buried.

His education at School Cacique Aterima, followed by Cacique Macuarima School and later Colegio San Antonio - Mavo in Santa Cruz, shaped him into a person who embodies the values of DUSHI: Discipline, Unity, Spirituality, Humility, and Innovation.

His passion for Carnival ignited during his final year at Colegio San Antonio when he couldn't shake an idea from his mind. “One morning, I woke up with the thought of representing my school in the Prins and Pancho election. I approached Shaqion van der Biezen and explained my idea. His response was immediate: ‘Let’s do it!’ With the guidance of his grandmother, Shi Preke, along with the support of his elders and school, they successfully won the crown of Prins Wiskunde and Pancho Algebra of Carnival 69, turning a dream into reality.

His love for entertainment didn’t stop there. In 2024, Lucas launched "Before Monday Comes Radio Show" on PowerFM alongside Shaqion and Ro Endry Bryson, bringing positive energy to the youth of Aruba. The idea quickly crossed borders, leading to an invitation from Radio Flamingo in Bonaire to broadcast the show on the neighboring island.

It was a Friday in November 2024 when Lucas received an unexpected message from Julio Andrews.

"Are you interested in being the MC for the Children's and Youth Queen Election?"

His first reaction? "What?" He couldn’t believe what his eyes were reading. After taking a moment to process the offer, he decided to accept the challenge. Since childhood, he had grown up watching his grandmother, Shi Preke, and his father, Hubert, in the world of entertainment—so it wasn’t entirely unfamiliar to him. That’s when he told himself, "Why not? Let’s see how it goes."

The preparation was intense. Lucas worked on his voice projection, intonation, and stage presence, receiving professional training from Tarrick Ras, a mentor who inspired and motivated his performance. The result was spectacular. His "chemistry" with Jorienne Angela was truly unique—they complemented each other effortlessly, delivering a vibrant and dynamic presentation. "We understood each other so well and allowed each other to shine."

Lucas enjoyed every moment, but his favorite event was the Children’s and Youth Queen Election itself. "The event I enjoyed the most was definitely the Children's and Youth Queen Election. The energy that night was just amazing! What a night!"

What he loved most was his ability to create an electric atmosphere inside the Entertainment Center, delivering a lively and engaging performance for both the audience and online Carnival fans. "The interaction with the audience was so much fun—they were engaging with me, playing along, and giving me goosebumps! That motivated me even more to entertain and give my all on stage."

Lucas believes that young people have the power to bring a new era to Carnival while maintaining respect for the pioneers.
"We are bringing dynamic and modern energy to continue elevating our beloved tradition."

His goal is to strengthen the Prins and Pancho Election, showcasing that young men can also bring positive energy to the community.

"Enjoy Carnival in a conscious and responsible way. We are the future of Carnival! Contribute, share your talent, and make sure our tradition continues to shine!"

If given another opportunity to be an MC, Lucas wouldn’t think twice!

If he had to describe Carnival in one word?

"UNFORGETTABLE!"
