A Strengthened Connection

A Strengthened Connection The expanded service will begin in July 2024, with additional flights every Monday - an addition to the existing itinerary of Saturdays, Wednesdays, and Sundays. This growth reflects the popular demand for the LIM-AUA route and satisfaction with LATAM's services.

Aeropuerto Internacional Reina Beatrix (AUA Airport), in collaboration with the Aruba Tourism Authority (A.T.A.), is celebrating the great news: LATAM Airlines has decided to increase the frequency of its direct flights from Lima to Aruba (LIM-AUA). This expansion is proof of the growing bond and the need for more flights between these two prominent tourist destinations.

LATAM Airlines' strategy to expand their schedule is to meet the growing demand and provide more flexibility and options for passengers. With the intention to connect not only Lima and Aruba but also to strengthen the routes to other destinations in South America, including Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay, and Uruguay. Current data shows that air traffic from Lima mainly consists of passengers from Peru (40%), Chile (30%), Argentina (25%), and Brazil (5%).

"We are extremely proud of LATAM Airlines' service expansion. Our airport's goal has always been to maintain strategic connections and ensure the long-term sustainability of this route. Aruba's dedication to connectivity and hospitality is undoubtedly reflected in this ongoing effort"
Jo-Anne Meaux-Arends, Aviation Business Development Executive

Within six weeks of the inaugural flight, LATAM Airlines is already responding to market needs with a fourth weekly flight from Lima. This increase highlights the marketing and promotion efforts implemented by A.T.A. and its partners in Aruba. Since the beginning of 2023, A.T.A. and its partners have worked hard to launch sales campaigns, raise awareness, and stimulate demand. The positive result is proof of the collective commitment to improve connectivity and promote Aruba as the preferred destination.

A.T.A. is planning to continue its efforts to grow Aruba's presence in the Southern Cone markets of South America, as part of its diversification strategy.
