Aishly Tromp (34) defines herself as a "goal-getter"; someone who doesn't like to stand still. Her passion for fashion and digital marketing led her to create Moxie, an e-commerce platform offering a unique selection of clothing and accessories.

Making Moxie relevant in Aruba's fashion scene as an established business is an achievement, thanks to the support of Qredits. This crucial "partnership" has helped Aishly, as a young entrepreneur, reach her promising future goals. This is her story...

Aishly Tromp is someone who sets high goals for herself, both personally and professionally. "I aspire to work hard to achieve my goals, live a peaceful life but at the same time challenge myself to continue growing," she shares. As a new mother, her emphasis is on being a positive example for her daughter and being present for her partner. On a professional level, Aishly's ambition is to be her 'own boss', a journey she has already been navigating for some years, exploring the realms of fashion and digital marketing. "I want to continue growing in these two areas," Aishly asserts, indicating that she seeks challenges that bring out the best in her.

Her inspiration came from her love for fashion and her educational and professional experience in New York, known as a global fashion city. The concept for Moxie was born from Aishly's desire to bring a part of New York's fashion vibe to Aruba. "In 2015, I obtained my Bachelor's degree in Fashion Marketing & Management in New York. I did several "internships" in fashion during my time in New York, and one of them was for an e-commerce website, where I helped a young woman launch her accessory website. I loved the concept so much and thought, 'wow, this would be a great concept for me to do in Aruba in the future'. In August 2019, I decided to make this dream a reality and thus launched Moxie.

Aishly discovered Qredits through social media and was impressed by how Qredits facilitates development for local entrepreneurs. Her experience with Qredits was "fantastic," according to her. "Everything was clear and went super fast." She applied for financial assistance and advice during a difficult period for the global economy; the COVID-19 pandemic. "I launched Moxie just a few months before without knowing how everything would change afterward. It was a very tough season for everyone, especially retail (in Aruba). 'Shopping' was not essential for most people, so I thought I had nothing to lose by approaching Qredits." Despite the uncertainty, the support of Qredits allowed Aishly not only to survive the challenges that came with that season but also to continue growing her business. Qredits also gave Aishly the opportunity as a facilitator to give workshops, thereby enriching her career as a digital marketer to other entrepreneurs/businesses.

Your experience as a facilitator at Qredits as well as a Digital Marketer?

"I was very grateful to be approached by Qredits for this. Public speaking was not something I enjoyed in the past, but after taking a challenge and participating in E-Aruba in 2018 as a speaker, I liked it and felt very comfortable speaking in public. Talking about digital marketing is something I can do easily. It's very enjoyable, especially if you have an audience that is interested and participates, and that was exactly what I experienced in the workshops I did for Qredits. It's something I would definitely like to continue doing."

Is essentially the "new way of marketing" and involves everything that is "online". Many people think digital marketing is just social media (such as Facebook and Instagram), but it's much more than that. It can be social media, but also email marketing, pay-per-click, influencer marketing, and website management, to name a few. Basically, you use one or several of these methods to market your business/product online.

Aishly Tromp views her future with ambition and clear plans to expand her business, Moxie. She expresses her desire to collaborate with local brands, both in accessories and wellness areas, reflecting her growing interest in the latter. "I find it exciting to be able to offer different categories of products on Moxie." Additionally, she contemplates the possibility of opening a physical store, thus creating a space where customers can experience her brand up close. Despite challenges, such as complications with international shipping and payment methods, Aishly maintains her passion and determination to grow Moxie and explore the international market. "I expect to maintain the same passion and drive," she affirms, highlighting her desire to gain more experience and wisdom to assist other entrepreneurs. Her advice for success is simple yet powerful: "love what you do". Naturally, not every day do you have the same enthusiasm or drive, but it's important to genuinely enjoy/cherish what you do because you spend many hours of your day doing it."

Would you recommend Qredits to someone else, and why?

Absolutely, yes. Qredits is not just a financial institution; they help entrepreneurs connect with others, learn from each other by offering coaching sessions, and push your business in the local market. I am extremely grateful to Qredits for helping Moxie grow a bit more and also for giving me the opportunity to give workshops to other entrepreneurs."
