Anaïsa Orman, a determined 27-year-old mother, is one of the candidates for the title of MISS UNIVERSE ARUBA 2023. She is also the first candidate with a child to participate in the pageant, showcasing her deep desire to represent Aruba on an international stage. With a strong and firm mindset, she is ready to face this challenge.
Why did you sign up for MISS UNIVERSE ARUBA?
One of my greatest desires was to compete in the Miss Aruba pageant, but in those days, there were strict beauty standards where you couldn't have children or a partner. But this year, when the opportunity and desire opened for me, I decided to make history as a strong, determined mother making her dream come true and opening the door for many other mothers who have desires they want to achieve.

LIFE EXPERIENCE
Share an experience that has shaped you into the person you are today and how it motivates you in your participation in the Miss Universe Aruba pageant.
The difficulties and obstacles that life has presented to me have made me stronger in my own shoes. My children are my motivation to achieve everything I set out in my life. This motivates me to show that as mothers, we can also achieve our dreams, and our children are not obstacles but motivations and inspirations to keep moving forward, no matter the difficulties or obstacles life puts in our path. We, as mothers, can be examples of change and a new era. The greatest motivation is my children, and I am here to give all mothers the hope to pursue their goals and dreams.
Aruba is known for its tourist attractions but faces challenges due to the growth of tourism and the construction of hotels. What steps do you believe should be taken to balance economic growth and environmental preservation?
Our island is known as the Happy Island for our friendliness, hospitality, diverse culture, acceptance, and treatment of every individual. Despite the challenges that Aruba has faced, we have always made every tourist, every person who visits our island, feel at home. To maintain our economic balance, we can start with sustainable development projects in Aruba. This way, we can ensure that we maintain the necessary balance.
As a potential ambassador for Aruba, how will you use your platform to improve the island's image and contribute to its development?
I want to see more support for mothers because motherhood is not a barrier; instead, it is a door that needs to be opened for us. Give us, as mothers, the chance to grow and fulfill our desires to achieve any goal we want. Open doors of opportunity where we can see more equality. Our children are not obstacles, but they are the driving force and motivation for us to fight every day, both inside and outside, to provide them with an example of being fighters who can overcome anything in life. As a mother, I represent all of you and give you the strength and hope that we can also achieve what we desire in life and, ultimately, sustainable development.
In an era where our understanding and perception of beauty are evolving, how would you define beauty as a participant in a beauty pageant?
It doesn't matter your height, weight, or skin color. Whether you are a woman or a mother, everyone has their unique beauty, and everyone deserves the same opportunities to share their dreams.
