Laboratorio Familiar, the first internationally accredited medical laboratory in Aruba and the Caribbean, proudly announces that it has recently undergone a comprehensive audit by the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA). This is a crucial process to renew the international accreditation that it has maintained since 2008, reflecting its unwavering commitment to scientific excellence and world-class healthcare.
This year, Laboratorio Familiar is celebrating a significant milestone: 39 years of service to the Aruban community. This reaffirms its dedication to quality and trust as a leader in medical testing in the region.
The audit was conducted by Dr. Marc Rumpler and Dr. Robert Bredt, two highly respected auditors who travel internationally to evaluate laboratories in more than 50 countries, including China, Japan, Abu Dhabi, Mexico, Canada, Italy, South Africa, Australia, and many others.
Dr. Marc Rumpler, PhD, is the lead evaluator for A2LA and Director at ThermoFisher Scientific in the United States. With extensive experience in multiple laboratory disciplines, Dr. Rumpler brings vast global knowledge acquired through his work in laboratories across different parts of the world.
Dr. Robert Bredt, is affiliated with the Texas Medical Board and serves as the Director of three laboratories in Texas. With over 30 years of experience with A2LA, Dr. Bredt is a recognized expert in Laboratory Information Systems and Quality Systems.

This year's audit included an evaluation under a new, more rigorous version of the accreditation system, demonstrating Laboratorio Familiar's dedication to continuous improvement and achieving the highest standards.
