THE GIRL WHO MADE PRINSES AMALIA SHED A TEAR

Unveiling the Artistic Soul of Autism Through Poetry and Self-Advocacy.

Have you seen the size of the sky?
Can you measure where it starts and where it ends? Don't let anyone tell you there's no room for you to be a star.

I'm a chunk of cells rather odd if I must say so myself. I don't think many can describe me, myself included. i am me, i am kay, a person you will have to meet and you'll be like: "okay yeah that's just kay." I am ever changing and ever growing.

INSPIRATION
I didn't choose this path, this path chose me. But I wouldn't change it, it is a part of me and it makes me who I am. The biggest challenge is when someone doesn't understand autism and then they dont understand me.

QUALITIES
It's really easy for me to say any ability or quality and it would be right but i think being true to yourself and sharing your genuine self is always something that i will look up to.

MOTIVATE EACH OTHER
The sun rises again. It's very hard to believe when you don't trust because you are surrounded by darkness; it is an immense mental strength to remind yourself that sun is and will shine again.

HOW DO YOU INSPIRE?
My inspiration comes from life's challenges. How I overcome that or express that I think is where people get inspired by me. I still find it unbelievable everytime someone says they are inspired by me. I have to take a moment to reflect and accept.

OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENTS
Currently I'm happy with how most of my life is going. I am also indecisive and cant choose, but i really loved reciting for the princess of the Netherlands it felt like it was just the two of us there. I love making others happy and I made her happy so that was the best part. On another note I love the travels I've been on and how I grew and survived in each one is something I pat myself on the back for.

Item 1 of 3

My professional life is also my hobby and part of how I cope with my emotions so it goes hand in hand.  When I feel I don't enjoy doing art, I simply stop. For many reasons one can be using it as a distraction when i need to feel my feelings or one can be i'm overworking myself. I know for others you cant simply stop with work. But you can always take a break in between.

WHAT MAKES YOU A WOMAN WHO INSPIRES?

If I'm really honest I don't know but I think people have seen me as sensitive and fragile and still continuing this thing called life.

BARRIER

The fear of being judged. No matter what you do, not everyone will be satisfied and that can be hard to deal with. Nobody wants to be shamed or judged. Or the thought "No one is worried about what I have to say." they do! someone out there cares and relates!.

“We are all poems in different forms”

SOLIDARITY, HOW?

By not comparing, not competing but lifting each other up. being honest, being kind, helping each other, communicating needs to one another. I think that's the best way.

ANOTHER WOMAN THAT INSPIRE YOU

Various in their own way for reasons like growing mentally, emotionally. To be kinder and more knowledgeable. Many women in my life have this effect on me.

ADVICE
Someone once told me just do it, if you feel that urge, that gut feeling to do it. Do it the the worst thing that can happen is you fail but you also learn and try. The best thing that can happen is succeeding in your aspirations and dreams. Be scared and do it anyway!

WOMEN IN ARUBA

I wasn't here for long but we have a woman prime minister that says a lot.

AN UNFORGETTABLE MOMENT OF INSPIRATION
When I was younger I shared all of my bubblegum with my sister and her friends and i didnt have any for me. My sister told me i want to be kind like you and she asked to share hers with me. I will never forget that.

INSPIRE OUR CHILDREN
I think it has already started, when you look at the media you see a lot of women entrepreneurs or women in positions of power, women doing jobs that are stereotypically "for men" so by allowing kids to see this positive content it inspires them to be like their elders.
