Not every business is built on glamour or from behind a shiny office desk. Some businesses rise from hard work under the scorching sun, with sweat and soil as their foundation. That’s exactly the kind of business Daniel Maduro has built with DM Property Care. Together with his team, they show up to neglected yards and forgotten corners of homes or buildings and turn them into something clean, functional, and beautiful. His landscaping and property maintenance company is a testament to the power of consistency, hard work, and turning a craft into an art. At just 27 years old, Daniel has built a business that’s making a big impact on Aruba’s scenery and real estate landscape.

Daniel was born in Colombia but raised in Aruba from the age of three months. He later spent part of his youth back in Colombia. That experience gave him a unique view of life one shaped by both hardship and opportunity.
"Being able to see both worlds has been one of life’s biggest gifts," he says. His personal journey between these two realities different systems, values, and pressures helped shape him into the resilient, visionary person he is today.
One of the biggest challenges for Daniel Maduro when he started his own business was earning trust not only from clients, but also in himself and from those closest to him. He remembers a time when even his own family didn’t believe in his idea; they saw his project as something without a future.
So, it was a battle not just physically but also mentally for him. But Daniel didn’t let that stop him. From day one, he focused on building trust by showing an organized way of working. "Trust is a bet a client places on you, and if you manage to win that, you can gain a client for life," he adds.

Daniel has worked in various sectors before founding his own company. According to him, this was his true school. "The experience placed me in high-pressure situations and challenges that forced me to learn how to sell, provide service, create systems, manage projects, interact with people, and, most importantly, execute at any level required by the situation." He learned to stay alert and adapt his way of thinking.
For Daniel, evaluating his own work is an ongoing process. He doesn’t base success only on what a client wants, but on whether the final result meets his own standards.
"It’s like being a 10-year-old playing soccer every day, and getting to watch your favorite player in the stadium. The next day, you try that same move. Over time, you get better maybe even good enough to play beside them. The same mindset applies to business."
Daniel believes in inspiring others, but also in holding himself accountable. If he can’t “sell” the result literally or metaphorically the project isn’t done. Every project must reflect his passion, quality, and intention.
"We believe in leaving every property in a way that it’s ‘Instagrammable’… But not every client wants that. Some people call just to trim a tree and leave it as is, and others want every weed removed from the land. But the culture of our company is clear: if we can’t ‘sell’ the result, then we’re not done.”

Do you ever turn down projects?
"We go to every appointment with the intention to help, but there are projects that simply aren’t for us. If the vibe doesn’t connect, if communication doesn’t flow, or if the planning doesn’t align with our schedule, we refer the job to a colleague who has the right structure.”
You create order out of chaos. How do you deal with the emotional weight of large-scale cleaning projects?
"Hard work is something many people can do. But there was a time when I was handling every project on my own. When you become the person building a legacy for yourself and your family, the emotional weight becomes a goal to overcome, not an obstacle. It motivates you to keep going, because you're seeing your vision getting closer and that vision becomes stronger than the weight you’re carrying."
Do clients get surprised when they see you?
"In the beginning, there was a lot of doubt. But once people meet us and see who we are, it becomes a strength. That surprise turns into trust."

“Today, my favorite moments are when my client and I connect on the vision for their home. We experience the plan together. But I’ll never forget my very first project. We didn’t even have the tools yet. I remember walking into Kooiman and buying things I didn’t even need just to get started."
How do you see the impact of your work on the landscape and properties of Aruba?
What we do doesn’t just change a single house, but the neighborhood as well. We’ve seen a domino effect in certain areas. Whether it’s us or the competition, we all bring that level of impact. We suggest to the client to inspire their landscape with the natural beauty of Aruba, and you can see that inspiration reflected in the market."

"There is always a better way to do something."
"Accept the position life has given you, but remember it’s also given you free will. You are the combination of your circumstances and your choices. You can do more than you think."
